Who we are
The Inn at Canaan is a hotel in Davis, West Virginia, operated by Taylor Hospitality and Up to Par Management. When this policy says “we” or “us,” that’s who we mean.
What we collect
When you book a room or contact us: your name, email, phone, mailing address, dates of stay, room preferences, special requests, and payment information (processed by our booking provider, Mews — we don’t store full card numbers).
When you visit the site: your IP address, browser and device type, pages you view, and how you got here. Standard web analytics data.
When you book through a third party like Booking.com, Expedia, or Hotels.com: we receive your reservation details from them so we can prepare for your stay.

Who we share it with

We use cookies to keep the site working, remember your preferences (like dates entered in the booking widget), measure traffic, and improve marketing. How long we keep your information
- Reservation records: at least seven years (required for tax and accounting)
- Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe — every email has an unsubscribe link
- Contact form submissions: up to two years
- Analytics data: typically 14 to 26 months, then deleted
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Show you what personal information we have about you
- Correct anything that’s wrong
- Delete your information (subject to legal exceptions like tax records)
- Stop sending you marketing emails
- Receive a copy of your information in a portable format

Children
The site is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. Families are welcome at the Inn — reservations and information about children are made by a parent or guardian.

We use HTTPS encryption, PCI-compliant payment processing through Mews, and restricted internal access to guest data. No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you share with us.
International visitors
We operate in the United States, and your information is stored and processed here. If you visit from another country, your information will be transferred to the U.S.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date and post a notice on the site. Check back occasionally to stay informed.
