Inn at Canaan Policies

Payment, Early Departure, and Cancellation Policies

Your reservation is guaranteed by the credit card provided at time of booking. 100% of the first night will be charged any time after booking. All Inn room reservations have a 48-hour cancellation policy unless otherwise noted.  Any changes to your reservation must be done by 6 p.m. local time 48 hours prior to your arrival date.  Reservations that are not canceled by 6 p.m. local time 48 hours prior to arrival are subject to a charge of one night’s stay plus taxes. Guests who are no-shows and have not canceled their reservation in advance will be charged the full amount of the booked reservation.

Check In Time and Policies

Guest on the reservation must be 21 years old with a valid photo identification. Acceptable forms of I.D. include a valid driver’s license, passport, and proof of
age card. Guests are required to furnish their vehicle and license plate information to the front desk.

Check-in time is any time after 4 p.m. (not guaranteed during times of high volume of occupancy). If you arrive earlier than 4 p.m. then we will be pleased to store your luggage until your room is ready. The Inn at Canaan will make every effort to honor special requests (such as a specific floor or room number) upon your arrival. However, the availability of these items cannot be guaranteed in advance. The Inn reserves all rights to refuse service to any guests of the Inn who do not follow or comply with Inn policies.

Credit Card Payment

A valid credit card and a valid picture I.D. of the guest making the reservation are required upon check-in. The card will be authorized at check-in for the estimated amount of your entire stay.  A deposit for incidental charges will also be taken. It may take 3 business days, or longer, after check-out for your bank to release the credit hold on your account.  The Inn at Canaan is not responsible for overdraft charges incurred due to the hold.

Debit Cards

If you choose to use your debit card at check-in The Inn will place a hold of the full anticipated dollar amount of your stay through your departure date, as well as an estimated hold for incidentals. Remaining funds due back to your debited account will be released upon check-out, which may take 3-5 business days to process. Additionally, your financial institution may have a contracted amount of time before the funds are released back to you.  The Inn at Canaan is not responsible for overdraft charges incurred due to the hold. A valid picture I.D. of the guest making the reservation is required upon check-in.

Cash Payment

You may pay with cash upon check out. We require a credit card or debit at the time of check in to be authorized for the entire stay.

Room Capacity

Maximum sleeping capacity in a room varies from two (2) to four (4) persons, depending on the type of room booked.

Smoking Policy

Smoking and vaping are prohibited in all public areas of the hotel and in all rooms (a $250.00 fine will be applied for smoking in a non-smoking room). Smoking and vaping are allowed outside only. Recreational use of cannabis is unlawful in the state of West Virginia.

Pet Policy

Dogs are to be kept on a leash at all times. The dog must be well behaved & not disturb other guests.  A valid cell phone number is required to be left with the front desk in case of emergency. Subsequent complaints will result in the removal of the animal and/or the removal of all registered occupants of the room. Owners are required to pick up and properly dispose of any animal waste. There is a dog waste Fido bag station on property for your convenience to use while walking your dog. Pets are not to be left alone in the room. Pets are not permitted in the breakfast/kitchen area of the Inn. There is a non-refundable fee of $100.00 per stay. *Additional charges may be applied for damages.

Noise Policy

Quiet time is 10 p.m. until 7 a.m. Please be aware of loud or excessive music, TV volume, loud conversations or any other noises that could disturb other guests.  Do not leave your door ajar. Guests will be asked to leave if staff has to issue two or more warnings due to complaints by other guests.

General Policies

The Inn at Canaan has the right to refuse service or accommodations in the Inn or suites or may remove a person or persons who: appear intoxicated or under the influence of an illegal substance, destroys or threatens to Inn motel property or causes or threatens to cause a public disturbance; or refuses or is unable to pay for their accommodations. A person or persons who negligently or intentionally causes damages resulting in the establishment’s loss of revenue resulting in the inability to rent room(s) or suite(s) will be liable for reimbursement of the Inn’s loss income while the damage is being repaired.

Check Out Time

Check-out is at 11 a.m. If you require a later check-out, please contact us before 10 a.m. on the day of departure, and we will do our best to accommodate your request. A charge may apply, depending on availability. Anyone staying after 11 a.m. without prior approval will be charged a half day.
