A Home Away from Home in the Valley
The Inn at Canaan sits on ten acres of rolling land in the heart of West Virginia's Canaan Valley. Our forest-green façade blends into the surroundings, and inside, we keep things warm and intimate — more than just a place to rest your head.
We decorate the lobby and common spaces to match each season and holiday, so the experience feels different in July than it does in February. The nearby towns of Davis and Thomas offer galleries, live music every weekend, and authentic Appalachian charm. Our partners at Blackwater Outdoor Adventures handle rafting and guided trout trips.
Whether you're here for the falls, the trails, the mini golf course, or just the cool mountain air, we want your stay to feel easy.

Good to Know Before You Book
What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is 3:00 p.m. Check-out is 11:00 a.m. Late checkout is sometimes available — just ask at the front desk.
Are pets allowed?
Yes — all 18 Inn rooms are pet-friendly. Pet fees are $100 for the first pet and $25 for each additional. Suites are not pet-friendly. We ask that pets be well-behaved and not left unattended in rooms.
Is breakfast included?
Yes. Complimentary grab-and-go breakfast is included with every stay. Available in the lobby in the mornings.
Do you have accessible rooms?
Yes. We have an ADA-accessible King room with a roll-in shower and accessible bath. Please call us at (304) 866-4166 or email fd.innatcanaan@taylorhospitality.com so we can confirm features that meet your needs.
What's nearby?
We're 10 minutes from Blackwater Falls State Park and Canaan Valley State Park, and 25 minutes from Dolly Sods Wilderness. The towns of Davis and Thomas are 5-10 minutes away. Three ski resorts — Timberline, Canaan Valley Resort, and White Grass — are all within 10 minutes for winter trips.
Is parking included?
Yes. Parking is free for all guests and visitors.
Do you host events or weddings?
We host smaller groups, birthday parties, mini golf tournaments, and team leagues on-site. For larger weddings and events, contact us and we'll point you to the right venue.
